Due to the the continued lock down in West Bengal, India, we were unable to move the cloth from the printers to the village. However, India is on the move again and the new quilts are being now being stitched.
I expect to take delivery of these at the start of AUGUST 2020.
Jeanette is proud to launch her new label, JEANETTEFARRIER.HOME with a range of brand new cotton fabrics. Screen printed in West Bengal at a small facility, the new cloth reproduces her favourite patterns discovered during her many visits to India to source vintage saris.
Durable, versatile and generous in width, the new fabrics vary in colour and mood. Hand-stitched in the kantha tradition, they are made up into quilts suitable for modern homes.
In the last few years, Jeanette has realised that the beauty of these prints will not be seen again. So she preserves their memory with this new product – and, of course, continues to keep her team of women in West Bengal in employment.
